April 22-28, 2018 is National Infertility Awareness Week® (NIAW), so it’s fitting that Scrubs honors not only those who have successfully overcome the challenge of infertility, but also those who still fight along with the nurses, doctors, and specialists who fight with them. NIAW has been a federally recognized health observance by the Department of Health and Human Services since 2010. Anyone can experience infertility regardless of religion, race, ethnicity, sexuality, or economic status.

InfertilityAwareness.org

InfertilityAwareness.org is inviting everyone to #flipthescript on infertility this week. Its mission is to change how infertility is viewed across America. The national movement to unite those who want to remove the barriers and stigmas associated with this condition is in full swing, and the best part is that everyone can make a difference, regardless of how big or small their efforts might be. The infertility community aims to also improve access to options for those struggling to expand their families.

RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association

RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association joins us in recognizing National Infertility Awareness Week®. Barbara Collura, President and CEO of RESOLVE states, “National Infertility Awareness Week® is a great opportunity for the community to come together to make sure that the public, media, insurers, healthcare professionals, and lawmakers focus on the issues that can truly improve the lives of people living with infertility.” She also explains that anyone can be challenged to have a family, and RESOLVE will “rally the infertility community to change the conversation around infertility.”

Throughout NIAW, members of the community are sharing stories and leading conversations about the challenges of trying to build their families, in addition to discussing various methods of resolution. Activities this week to honor those involved with infertility include social media events, local events, national media coverage, fundraising, awareness walks, and more.

Generation Next Fertility

Patients, organizations, and national associations are not the only ones recognizing National Infertility Awareness Week®. Fertility treatment centers like Generation Next Fertility are also rallying support for patients and awareness of a very real (and rather common) condition. Generation Next Fertility is a global leader in fertility care and treatment. Based in New York City, New York, the renowned doctors and staff members are global leaders in the field for a reason: As is stated on the official website, “We do not lose hope on your chance to have a baby!” And it’s that positive momentum and encouragement that defines the very essence not only of fertility treatment in general, but also of National Infertility Awareness Week® at its very core. Doctor Janelle Luk and Doctor Edward Nejat are leading the way in helping families and changing perspectives!

#FliptheScript on Infertility

Join Scrubs and thousands of others across the country this week as we rally to support everyone affected by fertility challenges and together, we too can #flipthescript on infertility.
