Receptiva
What is Receptiva?
Receptiva is a test to determine if you have endometriosis.

How is Receptiva conducted?
• Endometrial biopsy
• Swabs inside of uterus
• Identifies BCL6 –> Determines whether someone has endometriosis
• Happens during day 19 of menstrual cycle
Why is Receptiva important?
• Diagnose endometriosis much easier and cheaper than using a surgery.
• Endometriosis can cause infertility.
• More failed embryo transfers a woman has –> Higher chance of positive Receptiva test (more BCL6 chemical marker)
• Embryos cannot implant and develop when there is endometriosis at the uterus.
• When endometriosis causes internal bleeding or there is inflammation, white blood cells rush to the uterus.
• White blood cells indiscriminately kill the objects they encounter, including embryos.

What to do going forward after a positive test?
If you tested positive for Receptiva, you can do these options:
1. Have a laparoscopy surgery removing the endometriosis
2. Have an estrogen suppression therapy to reduce inflammation from endometriosis. This is typically done using Lupron medications.

When BCL6 was identified and laparoscopy or Lupron was used:
79% Pregnancy Rate
64% Live Birth Rate
When BCL6 was identified and Lupron was used:
81% Pregnancy Rate
68% Live birth rate
We could also conclude that Lupron is more successful in removing endometriosis than using surgery.
Whenever Receptiva tested positive untreated, the patient had only a 11% chance of a live birth, but whenever Receptiva tested negative, the patient had a 59% chance of a live birth.
