Embryo testing is considered safe and has been used for many years. On day 6 or 7 after fertilization, a small number of cells are carefully removed from the portion of the embryo that becomes the placenta (not the portion that becomes the baby).\u00a0<\/p>

There has been no documented decrease in implantation rates with embryo biopsy.<\/p>

The chance of hurting the embryo is about 1% during the biopsy stage due to the requirement of assisted hatching for PGT.<\/p>
