Helping LGBT Couples Build a Family

Generation Next Fertility proudly supports LGBT couples as they begin the process of building a family. With board-certified physicians in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, our fertility center is equipped to handle all kinds of reproductive scenarios and challenges. For the most part, transgender, gay, lesbian, and bisexual couples have the same options with assisted reproductive technology as straight couples do, except for just a few key differences.

At Generation Next Fertility, we proudly work with couples of all sexual backgrounds and are dedicated to each and every couple who comes to us for help. If you and your partner are ready to have a child, learn more about your fertility options and let the friendly professionals at Generation Next Fertility help you make your dreams come true.

Why LGBTQ Couples Choose Generation Next Fertility

It is often the case that these couples are not usually diagnosed as being infertile before they turn to the services of clinics like ours; instead, they often come to us perfectly capable of producing fertile sperm or eggs.

Gay couples will need an egg donor and a gestational surrogate, and lesbian couples will need a sperm donor and sometimes, an egg donor. These are choices that each LGBTQ couple should discuss between themselves, and then with our professionals here at the clinic. During consultations with our reproductive specialists, we can discuss the best course of action for a LGBTQ couple with in vitro fertilization, intrauterine insemination, and other reproductive technologies.

Fertility Options for Lesbian Couples

Lesbian couples have many options when it comes to building a family. One of our fertility specialists will help you choose a proper sperm donor from one of our sperm bank partners, or you may choose to use someone you know as a sperm donor. Depending on the reproductive health of you and your partner, one person may decide to be artificially inseminated, or with reciprocal in vitro fertilization, both partners can participate in the process. Reciprocal invitro fertilization means that one partner will have their eggs inseminated, while the other partner will carry the pregnancy and deliver the child.

During your visit, one of our fertility specialists will asses your situation and your family building goals and present you with the best options. They will walk you through every step of the process to make sure you and your partner have all the information you need. If any issues or complications arise during the insemination process, we’ll be there to prescribe the correct treatment.

Fertility Options for Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Men

The professionals at Generation Next Fertility will be there to help you and your partner find the right surrogate. You have many options as a gay or transgender couple when it comes to conceiving a child. You or your partner may donate your sperm, depending on the fertility of the samples you provide. We have access to an excellent egg donor program, giving you plenty of options to choose from. Once you’ve found the right donor, we will pair you with a suitable surrogate that will carry the pregnancy. Our specialists will be there to answer all your questions and guide you through the fertility process.

Fertility Testing for LGBTQ Couples

Many of our LGBTQ patients also choose to participate in preimplantation genetic diagnosis or genetic screening, as well. Lesbians who may think they are infertile can be tested and evaluated using procedures like laparoscopy, sonograms, and others. There are also various tests available to assess any male factors of infertility and diagnose those, as well.

The Health of Surrogate Carriers

Any time a gestational carrier is used by a couple of any sexual orientation, it is vital that the uterine cavity of that carrier is found to be normal. We can help LGBTQ couples with this using saline infusion sonograms and other testing options.

Genetic Testing for LGBTQ Couples

Generation Next Fertility is proud to offer our patients the availability of the most advances genetic services available, including preimplantation genetic screening (PGS) and preimplantation genetic diagnosis. We can screen for many types of conditions including Down syndrome, Turner’s syndrome, some birth defects, and others. If you and your partner were found to be carriers of a specific genetic disorder, we can look for specific mutations associated with that disorder to find and use only the embryos that do not carry the disorder.

At Generation Next Fertility, we believe that all individuals should be able to have a family. Our team here at Generation Next Fertility proudly offers a vast array of technologies, testing, and tools to help all our LGBTQ patients achieve their dreams of growing their families.
